The Cybersecurity Center at Texas A&M University (TAMU) will host the GenCyber: Digital Forensics Analysts Academy, two face-to-face summer day camps for middle and high school students and teachers in the Brazos Valley Region in Texas. Through a digital forensic analysts-themed camp, students and teachers will learn about the GenCyber core cybersecurity concepts: Defense In Depth, Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Think Like an Adversary, and Keep It Simple. Students (forensics analysts) and Teachers (case officers) will use interactive activities in digital forensics, cryptography, steganography, and other cybersecurity-related areas to learn the GenCyber core cybersecurity concepts. The GenCyber camp will end with the students and teachers analyzing evidence and providing testimony in a mock cybercrime and mock trial. The students will be provided access to tools and resources they can take home to continue their cybersecurity exploration.
