BSides Austin functions as the largest yearly security conference in the state of Texas. Dr. Daniel Ragsdale on Denial of Service Attacks

Daniel Ragsdale, director of the Texas A&M Cybersecurity Center, said denial of service attacks are “very difficult to defend against” because they involve contacts from hundreds or thousands of computers located around the world. Victims can’t block every one of them because they might be blocking legitimate customers, he said.
