Internships are formal programs within organizations whose primary purpose is to offer practical work experience in a particular occupation to people who are new to that field. Internships are a proven way to gain relevant knowledge and skills in a field, and are key to building experience as a student or recent graduate. Employers are more likely to hire someone with internships and work experience rather than someone with a generic resume, lacking experience.
