Texas A&M team wins capture the flag competition in San Antonio

The Texas A&M University team GigEmBytes was the winner of the 2018 Alamo Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association’s annual Capture the Flag competition held on Nov. 7. The competition, sponsored by Deloitte, featured challenges from a wide range of categories including web, crypto, reverse engineering and forensics.

Huang receives Mozilla Research Award for his work on browser-based attacks

By: Felysha Walker Mozilla awarded Dr. Jeff Huang, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University, a grant to support his significant research in detecting and eliminating web browser-based attacks. Specifically, Huang is focused on developing automated tools to protect web browsers from memory corruption vulnerabilities.
