Texas A&M Corps of Cadets Cyber Operations Special Unit
The Cyber Operations Special Unit is a special unit of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and a recognized student organization. Founded in Spring 2017 by Cadet Andrew Laramore, it was the first organization of its kind at a Senior Military College.
Mission
Develops well-educated leaders of character prepared for the global cyber challenges of the future.
Who
The Cyber Operations Special Unit accepts ROTC and non-ROTC cadets who are interested in careers in cyber. The unit is open to all majors and all cadets who want to learn, practice, and apply cybersecurity practices to help them prepare to successfully transition into the workforce. There are no specific technical skills needed to join the unit.
Purpose
- Build Cybersecurity Expertise To train cadets in the technical knowledge and skills required to work in the field of cybersecurity
- Compete and Excel To compete on a national level in virtual and in-person cybersecurity competitions
- Advance Professional Credentials To earn cybersecurity-related certifications
- Develop Future Leaders To develop leadership and enhance career readiness

The Texas A&M Cybersecurity Club
The Texas A&M Cybersecurity Club provides students with opportunities to learn more about the cybersecurity field and develop their skills through competitions, learning programs, and weekly meetings on cybersecurity topics. We foster a community where members can learn and grow together as they develop their professional network.
