This spring, Dr. Hamilton developed a new course in partnership with the U.S. Air Force focused on cybersecurity resilience in satellites and airborne devices. The course gave rise to two research projects led by Texas A&M Cybersecurity Center PhD students, both of which were presented at the AIAA Aviation Forum in San Diego this summer.
Emery Johnson and Keith Crabb presented research on radiation-resilient post-quantum cryptography for satellite systems, while Hugh Coleman presented a systematization of knowledge on drone swarming. At the forum, the students had the opportunity to connect with government and defense industry leaders working in space and air cybersecurity.
The work reflects the Center’s growing focus on applying cybersecurity research to real-world defense and aerospace challenges.
